SeaLink Tasmania is proud to continue as naming sponsor of the 2025 SeaLink Bruny Island Ultra Marathon. The three-year sponsorship underscores SeaLink's ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, promoting active lifestyles and showcasing the unique natural beauty of Bruny Island.
More than 800 runners from across Australia and around the world took part in last year's event, and interest for 2025 has surged even higher. With registrations closing well ahead of the 20 November cut-off, a record 1,250 participants are set to take on the challenge on Saturday, 29 November 2025.
The SeaLink Bruny Island Ultra Marathon offers both a 64 km ultra-marathon and a new 42.2 km marathon distance, with solo and relay team options. The race begins at Dennes Point in the north of the island and finishes at the Cape Bruny Lighthouse (for the ultra) or Bruny Pub Hotel (for the marathon), traversing some of Tasmania's most scenic and rugged terrain.
“We're thrilled to continue to be part of such a unique event in one of Tasmania's most beautiful locations,” said Simon Tamlyn, General Manager, SeaLink Bruny Island.
The Bruny Island Ultra Marathon encourages participants to take in the island and all it has to offer by staying a little longer and experience this iconic Tasmanian destination by exploring its unique landscapes, wildlife, and world-class epicurean delights,” Mr Tamlyn continued.
As the event continues to grow, organisers say SeaLink's continued support plays a vital role in its success and sharing Bruny Island with visitors from near and far.
“SeaLink's sponsorship helps make the Bruny Island Ultra Marathon possible and ensures the event delivers real benefits for the local community beyond the race,” said Paul Riseley, Race Director, Bruny Island Ultra Marathon.
Their support helps us to attract runners and support crews from across Tasmania, interstate and even overseas and encourages many to stay a little longer outside of race day to connect with and explore even more of what makes Bruny Island such a special destination,” Mr Riseley said.
Runners and their supporters are encouraged to arrive early and linger afterwards. Staying on-island for a few extra days offers the perfect mix of preparation and recovery.
After the finish, runners and the wider community can come together at the post-race party, the Bruny Island Feast and Fun event, featuring live music, family-friendly games and activities, and enjoy a drink in the beer garden and local food.
